Over the years choosing a different headiner for small village hall festival has always been a challenge. We're terribly worried of becoming repetitive or predictable. We have a dream list and over the last couple of years these guys have been at the top of it. We're beyond excited that they've agreed to play. They very rarely play in the UK due to their busy schedules elsewhere so this really is a one off chance to see them. Simply the best band out there right now.

In their own words:

We met by chance one night in 2009 during a folk festival in Copenhagen. Ale and Rune were standing in the corner of a pub jamming some folk tunes. Nikolaj just came in, sat at the piano and began to play along. The three of us ended up playing together all through the night.

Since then we have been working hard, traveling around, playing tons of concerts and the support has been amazing. We are on an exciting journey and we are looking forward to meet all of you in your neighborhood, wherever it might be.

Six months after we met, Rune held his debut concert at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He played Mozart’s ‘5th Violin Concerto’ with a full symphony orchestra. In the third movement, Ale and Nikolaj joined Rune on stage, playing the cadenza with new sounds from east and west. When the orchestra joined in at the end, the crowd went wild.

In 2011, a dream came true when we were invited to play a series of seven concerts with Copenhagen Phil titled“60 Minutes of Dreams” – a whole hour of music by Dreamers’ Circus. We were the first ever Danish folk band to play with a symphony orchestra. Rock musician, writer and critic, Kristian Leth was our artistic director andHans Ek orchestrated our compositions. With his amazing precision, Hans managed to blend folk music into the symphonic frame as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

We released our first album, ‘A Little Symphony’ in June 2013. 13 of our own compositions recorded with special guests: the elite Danish String Quartet; 13-piece brass band European Travelling Brass Carnival and Indian bansuri master Rishab Prasanna.

At the Danish Folk Music Awards 2013 we were awarded ‘Talent of the Year’, ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Artist of the Year’ (Ale Carr) – also nominations for ‘Composer of the Year’ for Nikolaj and Ale.
