How To Find Us

Address: Trelawnyd Memorial Hall, London Road, Trelawnyd, Flinshire. LL18 6DN.

There is a small (10 space) car park approximately 100 metres from the venue further up High Street. If there is additional parking for certain events customers will be advised of any separate arrangements. This is a small village location so please choose your parking accordingly. The venue is on an A-road so please take care in walking to the Hall once you have parked. There is a pedestrian crossing further west, circa 100 metres, along London Road. When crossing London Road please use the crossing. If you have any questions please call us at The Record Journal.

TAXI! We provide free transport between the campsite and the venue at specific times over the weekend. SAFETY: We recommend taking great care if you choose to walk between the campsite and the venue. The road is a quick one with limited verges to walk on. Please do not walk this at night without a torch and Hi-Vis clothing. Just give one of our volunteers a shout. The Food

We provide a range of hot and cold food choices over the Friday and Saturday in the Hall. These range from Boston Baked Beans, Chille con Carne, to home made Quiche and Soups. A range of freshly made sandwiches is on offer throughout the Saturday. Other choices might be Fallafal & Humous Wraps, but expect the unexpected! Subject to weather we do try to provide a barbecue on both evenings serving some pretty splendid hot dogs. All our food is homemade with locally sourced ingredients made by a crack team of food smiths. We also very much like cake. We have been practising our cake making skills from the very first FATH event, so you are sure to see a variety of sweeter offerings! Look out for the sheep cup cakes!

The Bar

The bar is also based in the Hall. The ales are from local Welsh micro breweries, usually from two to three different breweries. The beer is in cask form, with a few bottles in reserve! We also stock local Welsh cider which has gone down a treat with our audiences so far! You can expect a range of soft drinks, teas & coffees, orange juice, lemonade, coke and so on. We have wine and a variety of spirits on offer.

Whether food or drink we try our best to keep it local, different and quality.

Access

The Record Journal Live venue at Trelawnyd Memorial Hall is fully wheelchair accessible. The following access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with disabilities, but aims to describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors. We are not directly responsible for the facilities at Trelawnyd Memorial Hall, but provide this information as a support for customers of The Record Journal Live events.

Introduction

Situated in the village of Trelawnyd, the Memorial Hall is the local village hall. It hosts a variety of community events and the annual flower show. It is also the venue for music events staged by The Record Journal.

The Hall is at the centre of the village on London Road (A5151), which is the main route between Dyserth and Rhuddlan (to the west) and Holywell and Halkyn to the east, which road intersects the village.

There are no upper floors to the Hall. The stage itself is raised above the main auditorium which enables a good view from any point within the Hall. There are no ‘restricted view’ areas.

The Hall was recently refurbished, and now provides a disabled person toilet, as well as a lift to stage level (for performers). There is level access into the Hall from the side of the Hall (off Chapel Street). If this side access is required, or you need more information or assistance, please contact us at The Record Journal so that we can ensure your visit and experience is excellent.

Car Parking & Arrival

The Hall is on a corner crossroads position at the centre of the village between London Road and High Street. London Road is an ‘A’ class route, and care is therefore needed in approaching the Hall. There is a pedestrian crossing further west, circa 200 metres, along London Road. When crossing London Road please use the crossing.

There is a narrow road alongside the Hall (Chapel Street) which can be used as a drop off point, but this may be being used to unload equipment also. It must not be used for general visitor parking.

Please note that Chapel Street is one way only, and can only be accessed from High Street, by taking the first right along Rhodfa Gop (just beyond the above mentioned car park), first right along Byron Street, and then back alongside the Hall on Chapel Street.

This is a small village location, with roadside parking – please therefore choose your drop off point and parking accordingly.

Main Entrance and Reception Area

The main entrance is via metal gates, where there is one small tapered step, and a further 4 steps to the entrance lobby. From the lobby there is level access into the Hall.

Level access for wheelchair users is via a wide double fire exit door or standard side door (whichever is appropriate). Both doors are next to each other, to the side (Chapel Street) and stage end of the Hall. As noted, please call us in advance to arrange opening of these doors.

Please note that there are no pavements along Chapel Street or at either doors and entrance. You are advised therefore to take care as you approach the Hall, and be aware of any traffic.

The Hall

The Hall auditorium (apart from the stage) is level throughout. Seating is not numbered. If as a wheelchair user you have specific requirements and preferences, we will reserve space accordingly. Please call us in advance so that we can ensure your experience is excellent and if reserved space is needed.

Public Toilets

All public toilets are on the level within the Hall. The Gent’s Toilet is to the right of the stage. Both the Ladies and separate Disabled Person’s Toilet are to the left of the stage through a connecting door.

Additional Information

We have an evacuation procedure – should you require it someone will assist you with evacuation either out of the building or to a refuge. Assistance dogs are welcome and water can be provided upon request.
